  • If you missed its debut on The Morning Show on KEXP this morning, we have new music from the Pixies! Check out the single "Um Chagga Lagga" below, from their forthcoming full-length Head Carrier, out September 30th via Pixiesmusic/[PIAS]. It'll be their first album with new bassist Paz Lenchantin (who you may remember from their 2014 KEXP session) who is now a permanent member of the band. In a press release, she says, "I was very nervous in the beginning when I went to that first rehearsal. There were these shoes I felt I had to fill and I tried to do the best I could for the fans, to make the live performances sound true to the originals. I spent three years learning to understand what being a Pixie meant, and now, my heart, spirit, and love for their music is embedded in me and I feel like I have become a Pixie. We had been more about the history of the Pixies, but now, we are about going forward." Listen below: [Under the Radar]

  • There's no doubt that Courtney Barnett is on her way up, and in the clip for her track "Elevator Operator," she's dressed for the job. In this video from director Sunny Leunig, special guests include Sleater-Kinney in the role of tourists, Jeff Tweedy playing chess, fellow Aussie Paul Kelly, and more. Watch below: [Pitchfork]

  • Crystal Castles unleashed a new video last night, too. In the clip for the track "Concrete," new vocalist Edith Frances winds her way through a crowded dance floor, wearing a Type O Negative tee. Rumor has it the new album will be titled Amnesty (I) and will be out on August 19th. [Spin]

  • There's so much to love about this next video, I don't know where to start. Jim James of My Morning Jacket has teamed up with Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes for a duet, which is cool in itself -- I mean, those voices! But, wait: the song they're performing? It's the Backstreet Boys smash hit "I Want It That Way." But, wait: the reason for the cover? It's a commercial for troubled fast food chain Chipotle, who've endured numerous contamination crises in the past year, including E. Coli, Salmonella, and the norovirus. Hope it works? [Pitchfork]
