It's not just in name we're alike. KEXP and KEX Hostel have shared a long partnership, going back to our first Iceland Airwaves broadcast in 2011. Since then, they've been gracious hosts and champions of great music, and in the spirit of our ongoing collaboration, they've held the aptly named KEXPort each summer, featuring a marathon set of 12 Icelandic bands in 12 hours. Though they barely scratch the surface of the available talent in Reykjavik, they're always onto of the best contemporary bands, and this year's lineup is no different as it combines current KEXP favorites like Mugison, Singapore Sling, Tilbury, Grísalappalísa, and dj. flugvél og geimskip, among newer acts for you to discover.
