  • We love it when two KEXP artists collaborate, and can't think of a better pairing than Nite Jewel and Julia Holter. Hear Julia's remix of the Nite Jewel track "Running Out of Time" below. You can find the original on her latest Liquid Cool, out now via Gloriette. [Under the Radar]

  • Nouvelle Vague -- the French group who take classic new wave and post punk songs and give them a bossa nova spin -- return with their first new album since 2010's Couleurs sur Paris. For their forthcoming EP, they even try to tackle Cocteau Twins' 1988 track "Athol Brose," which is pretty brave of them. As a hardcore CT fan, my first reaction was, "SACRILEGE!" but after listening to it, I admit, it's pretty well done. Listen below, followed by the far superior (what? the band surely agrees) original. The Athol Brose EP hits stores September 2nd via Kwaidan Records, and also features covers of Joy Division and The Buzzcocks. Like I said, pretty brave. [Stereogum]

  • Experimental hip-hop trio clipping. return with a new LP, Splendor & Misery, out September 9th on Sub Pop/Deathbomb Arc. Check out the first single "Baby Don’t Sleep" below. Director Cristopher Cichocki captures rapper Daveed Diggs through distorted images. Diggs just recently won both a Grammy and a Tony Award for his work in the Broadway musical Hamilton, bringing him halfway to an EGOT. Catch clipping. on Thursday, August 4th at Neumos with Cakes Da Killa and Porter Ray. [Pitchfork]

  • Last night, The Strokes made their first television appearance in support of the new EP Future Present Past. Watch them perform the track "Threat of Joy" on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and keep track of all these late night television highlights with KEXP's TV Eye. [Consequence of Sound]
