Song of the Day: Daniel Wilson - Wedding Daze

As June dawns on us, it brings with it sunshine, long days, and the joyous (for some) Wedding Season. Which is why it couldn't be a more perfect or appropriate day to focus on Daniel Wilson's single "Wedding Daze." The track is a joyous soul-tinged ride with some dark lyricism that appeals to both the optimist for whom love brings life and the pessimist who believes marriage might possibly be the death of them.

If you're unfamiliar with Daniel Wilson, you'd be forgiven considering he's only put out two EPs and his last one Boy Who Cried Thunder was released over a year ago. On the other hand, he was also named one of Time magazine’s 15 Musical Artists to Watch in 2015 and for good reason. Wilson is a Michigan-native who grew up on gospel music and Mariah Carey. His unique soulful high register, mastery of catchy hooks, and penchant for groovy, celebratory jams make him one to watch out for. He's also working with some big names in the production biz for the upcoming EP, including Matt Hales (Disclosure, Lianne La Havas), Jimmy Harry (Madonna, Weezer), and Jimmy Hogarth (James Bay, Sia) so we doubt there is very little time left where anyone will be asking "Daniel Wilson who?"
