Disclosure is not a new face to Sasquatch! Music Festival, having played the El Chupacabra stage in 2013. Since then they’ve garnered worldwide fame and accolades and influenced the sound of pop music as a whole. So when their 2015 release Caracal was not received with as much universal praise as their debut Settle, it seemed less to do with the fact that their was a drop in quality, and more to do with the fact that their sound is now found in many of the tracks clogging the pop-radio airwaves. And while the influence of their progressive sound has seemingly mellowed the impact of their own releases for better or worse, their live show still stands alone. Surrounded by rings of light that hosted a variety of drum pads, synths and midi controllers, the Lawrence brothers blasted the gorge with house, playing a pleasing mixture of favorites from both Settle and Caracal. Disclosure has long been a master of marrying dance inspiring house rhythms with radio ready pop-hooks, and with the group playing the music live instead of settling for a glorified DJ set, it’s a formula that results in an unforgettable show.
