  • Late last year, Wavves frontman Nathan Williams launched a label, Ghost Ramp, and for 2016, their kicking off their subscription series in an awesome way: a split 7" single featuring his band on one side, and Best Coast on the other side, covering the Nirvana track "Dumb." Listen to a vinyl rip below. The two bands are heading out on tour together this year (who will watch Snacks?), but no Seattle date yet. [Consequence of Sound]

  • It's no surprise that one of the loveliest songs of 2015 now has a video with beauty to match: check out the clip for "Wide Open," a single from The Chemical Brothers' Born in the Echoes album featuring Beck on guest vocals. Directors Dom & Nic released a statement explaining their "vision was to merge the mechanical and organic, having been inspired by procedural cellular structures; their VFX Team at The Mill created a full CG model of the dancer, Sonoya Mizuno, comprising of 107 individual anatomic rigs, as well as bespoke tools to allow the seamless transformation which happens during the dance." • Over the weekend, Father John Misty shared a track online that was originally written for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Stream the hilariously-creepy track "Maybe, Sweet One, You Won't Have Nightmares" below. He explains online, "I was asked to write a lullaby for Stephen Colbert as part of a skit for the show. Unfortunately the bit was cut for time/content." That's a shame, because we would've loved to see Colbert's eyebrows raise at these lyrics. Father John Misty performs on Wednesday, April 6th at The Paramount. [Under the Radar]

  • In other music video news, new wave icons New Order share a clip for the track "Tutti Frutti," a single from their first new album in a decade, Music Complete. Director Tom Haines (The Civil Wars, Jon Hopkins) tells the story of an elderly man who daydreams about being a variety TV show host. Watch below: [Consequence of Sound]
