  • As we announced earlier this year, Sam Beam (better known as Iron & Wine) is digging through his archives and releasing the findings on his own Black Cricket Recording Company label. Archive Series Volume No. 1 is out now, featuring demos and unreleased material recorded around the same time as his 2002 debut album The Creek Drank the Cradle, including the track "Everyone's Summer of '95." Watch the video below, starring actor David Dastmalchian in the wrestling ring. [Pitchfork]

  • Speaking of Iron & Wine, he's just one of the many guests who appear on the ninth and latest album from Calexico, titled Edge Of The Sun. Another guest on the release is Band Of Horses’ Ben Bridwell, who sings on the track "Falling From the Sky," and starring in the video is yet another friend, José González. Director Mikel Cee Karlsson promises a part two to the clip soon, continuing the relationship between González and his worm-like friend. Calexico are playing sans worm Thursday, July 16th at the Concerts at Marymoor Park, opening for The Decemberists. [Under the Radar]

  • Samuel T. Herring unleashes his distinctive croon with his band Future Islands, but did you know the man can also bust a rhyme? Under the alias "Hemlock Ernst," he raps on the track "Lavender Chunk" by Scallops Hotel (a.k.a. milo). That's a lot of aliases. "Lavender Chunk" will appear on the upcoming Scallops Hotel album, Plain Speaking, out May 5th via Ruby Yacht/The Order Label. [DIY Magazine]

  • It's been a couple of years, but UK punks Palma Violets return this Spring with their sophomore release, Danger In The Club. Today, they share a smoke-filled video for the track "English Tongue". Watch it below, and then watch their 2013 KEXP session here. Danger In The Club hits stores on May 5th via Rough Trade. [Stereogum]
