  • Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete has reached out to the public for funding for his battle against cancer. Fekete underwent surgery a few months ago to have a large tumor from his abdomen, but unfortunately, this rare and aggressive form of cancer has since spread to his lungs and spine. Since insurance will only cover so much, he's set up a GoFundMe page here. Fekete says, "Any extra funds collected when this is all said and done will be donated to further my doctor's alternative cancer research." [DIY Magazine]

  • Last month, Built to Spill premiered their whimsical video for "Living Zoo," starring dapper actor Hairy Canary. In today's video for the single "Never Be The Same," also directed by Jordan Minkoff, the band's frontman Doug Martsch finds himself enamored of the thickly-tressed thespian. Watch the hilarity that ensues: [Stereogum]

  • How'd you do this Record Store Day? If you weren't able to score a copy of the Nirvana tribute album Whatever Nevermind, the label Robotic Empire has made it available to stream online. Check out Japanese noise-band Boris performing "Lithium" or doom metal band Thou's take on "Endless, Nameless" and "Even In His Youth." An excellent compilation through and through: [Spin]

  • Not even a broken foot could keep Florence + the Machine down: when they took the stage at Coachella this past weekend, frontwoman Florence Welch announced, "To make up for my foot being broken and not being able to stand for you, I thought I'd give you something really special. Everybody, this is Father John Misty." With that, FJM (aka Josh Tillman) joined her on stage for an acoustic cover of "Love Hurts" by The Everly Brothers. Watch below: [Pitchfork]
