It’s time again for Friday on My Mind. Our weekly blog post where we look at videos centered around one common theme. This is a collaborative effort between KEXP and King 5 News.
A friendly reminder from your friends and family at KEXP that this Sunday it will be time again to ‘spring forward’ for Daylight Savings. For those of you in Arizona and Hawaii, Daylight saving time is when the rest of us move our clocks forward this is all in order to have more daylight in the evenings when the weather gets warmer. The idea is to make better use of the sun and to save energy. So this Sunday, the 2am hour will be completely non-existent. Therefore this is the one where we lose an hour of sleep, which is particularly unfortunate when you have to get up early for your job, say like for someone who does a radio show at 6 in the morning. Now here are a few musical selections to help you contemplate time....Foreigner - Feels Like the First Time
Here’s Lou and Gramm and his posse performing the song, or at least lip synching the song, on television back in 1978.

Our next time song selection is from one of our all time favorite artists, Sharon Van Etten. “Every Time The Sun Comes Up” is the last track on her excellent 2014 release, Are We There. Here is her KEXP in studio performance of the song.
