Seattle's Garrett Lunceford, a.k.a. DJ Nitty Gritty, has become a staple on the soul scene as a current resident DJ at the Sophisticated Mama parties at Havana on Thursdays, as well as often rocking it with the influential Emerald City Soul Club crew. Propelled by a love for the finest in both rare and popular soul, funk, and R&B from the 1960s and early 1970s, DJ Nitty Gritty came to KEXP equipped with a toolbox full of vinyl 45s to piece together a killer throwback mix for Midnight In A Perfect World.
