We've got more new music to share from Return to the Moon, the highly-anticipated debut of EL VY, a collaboration between Matt Berninger of The National and Brent Knopf of Ramona Falls/Menomena, out October 30th on 4AD. Check out a lyric video, directed by Matt's brother Tom Berninger, for the single "Paul Is Alive" below. Matt released a statement saying, "I think ‘Paul Is Alive’ is about finally finding the water that you can breathe in, finding a place or a person that makes you feel like you. It’s very much my story of what Cincinnati was like, growing up and falling in love with music, discovering these little places where like-minded people could find each other." KEXP presents EL VY at Neumos on Wednesday, November 4th with Hibou. [Pitchfork]

Following a fantastic performance at Decibel Festival this month, NY-based producer Nicolas Jaar shares a new track. Stream the single "Fight (Nymphs IV)" below, which Jaar introduced with the tweet, "This nymph swam to gent." Listen: [Stereogum]

It's been nearly six years, but experimental-rockers Tortoise have announced a new album, The Catastrophist, out January 22, 2016 via Thrill Jockey. Listen to the first single "Gesceap" below. The Catastrophist will feature guest vocals from Todd Rittmann of U.S. Maple and Dead Rider and Yo La Tengo's Georgia Hubley, who sings on, what the press release calls, an "honest-to-goodness soul ballad." And, finally, in much furrier news: internet celebri-cat Lil BUB will release her debut album, Science & Magic, on December 4th via Joyful Noise Recordings. Watch behind-the-scenes footage of BUB hard at work below. Collaborator Andrew W.K. said in a press release, "Not only is she the softest creature I have ever encountered, she is also the most musically and compassionately gifted. The songs on this album are her vision." A portion of profits from the sale of the album will be donated to Lil BUB’s Big FUND for the ASPCA, in support of special needs pets. [Spin]
