Beat Connection - So Good (MP3)

It's finally here!!! Beat Connection's long awaited new LP Product 3 is out this week and it is, well, so good! (Read the review here.) The Seattle group has been at work on the new record since their last LP, The Palace Garden, in 2012. From the first-fruits of "Hesitation" last summer, the band have only given us magic since then leading up to the album's release. The album has - get this - FIVE singles. And all of them are dynamite. "So Good" is the fourth of those, and really, it is the stuff of wonders.

Beat Connection have been honing in on a sound they can call their own for years, and with the Product 3 singles, we hear that sound put on display for all to hear. This fact can't be more the case for "So Good". Here, the band has built a bouncy two-step of a hook with a built in singalong for maximum live presentation. But when you get the verse, Tom Eddy's verses are heartfelt and thoughtful, making the sugary euphoria of the chorus pay off in wonderful ways. "So Good" sees everyone in the band performing at peak levels. The drums are snappy and clean, as is the funkadelic bass line. The guitar riffs are infectious and the production is lush and vibrant. Altogether, these are the pieces that make a top notch Beat Connection track, and we have it here for you to put on infinite repeat.

Catch Beat Connection live for free tomorrow at KEXP and Rainier's R Day! All proceeds benefit KEXP's new home! In the meantime, check out the whole record over at the band's Soundcloud and pick up a copy for yourself at your local record store or the ANTI- Store. For all other matters, connect with Beat Connection via their website and Facebook page, and be sure to watch the band perform today's featured song live in the KEXP studio just last month:
