Cardiff, Wales-based artist Gwenno Saunders is the former front-woman for the infectious UK pop outfit The Pipettes. She emerged with her brilliant debut solo album, Y Dydd Olaf, earlier this year as Gwenno, a record that quickly became a favorite at KEXP with its vibrant mixture of psych-tinged space-pop and leftfield Kraut-pop, all accented by Gwenno singing all but one of the album's songs in her native Welsh language (the other song was sung in Cornish). Her exclusive mix for Midnight In A Perfect World showcases her unique influences as well as obscure gems from the Welsh underground.
