The light rain didn't keep the crowds away from attending the first day of the 2014 Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, and the improving weather will only make today more enjoyable. No doubt people will come rain or shine for legendary bands like Big Star's Third and The Replacements, but you may not need your own bumbershoot after all to enjoy sets from Bootsy Collins, Luscious Jackson, Mission of Burma, The Dismemberment Plan, and many others.
KEXP will be set up once again in the Music Lounge, hosting another round of amazing and exclusive performances, featuring local breakouts and today's headliners of the Bumbershoot Main Stage, The Head and the Heart; two of those legendary groups, Paisley Underground pioneers The Dream Syndicate and Big Star's Third, gathering an all-star group to pay tribute; plus Seattle's afro-beat funksters Polyrhythmics and Brooklyn-based baroque popsters San Fermin.
Listen to these live sessions all day long as KEXP broadcasts from the Bumbershoot Music Lounge!
