Get drunk in tribute to those who aren't old enough to do so! This week, our friends at the Vera Project kick off the 12th Annual A Drink for the Kids, a lost-weekend-long fundraiser for 21+ music lovers to support the beloved all-ages venue, just by drinking at their favorite bar.The opening night party is this Wednesday, June 18th at Neighbor Lady, hosted by Do206, Kim Selling, Skate Like a Girl, Hollow Earth Radio, and Travis Maisch.
On Thursday, June 19th, the fun continues at Linda’s Tavern, featuring a silent auction with tickets to shows, a painting by Derek Erdman, and more. The evening is hosted by Vera founders James Keblas, Kate Becker, and Shannon Stewart, as well as Sub Pop Records, Emily Nokes and Kelly O of The Stranger, The Grammys, psych band Midday Veil, Uber, and Vera board member Chris Hong.
Friday, June 20th the party moves to Redwood Tavern with hosts Cairo, board members Amber Jimenez and Jerry Chiang, Hollis Wong-Wear, Hush Hush Records, as well as Vera staffers Rachel Kramer, Andrea Friedman, Elizabeth Maize, and Andy Fife.
The closing party will be held Saturday, June 21 at the new Comet Tavern, hosted by David Meinert, Vera board member Mikhael Mei Williams, David Gallo, and friends.
Each night will feature raffles with fun prizes from partners like Seattle Theatre Group, Sub Pop, the Show Box, Bon Voyage Vintage, and more. And thanks to sponsors like Tito’s Vodka, 3 Howls, and Ninkasi Brewery, 100% of the proceeds raised from the purchase of their beverages or cocktails will directly benefit The Vera Project.
So, when your boss asks why you're hungover at work, just tell him or her, it's for a good cause! Cheers!
