  • Conor Oberst, of Bright Eyes fame, has announced that he will release a fresh solo album Upside Down Mountain, on May 20. This is the first new material from Oberts since his work with Bright Eyes back in 2011. Check out the album's first single, a bright and captivating ditty, "Hundreds of Ways" below. [Stereogum]

  • There really is an app for everything, isn't there? It seems Radiohead has decided to spread their vision and talent in the form of an app called PolyFauna. Thom Yorke says, "It comes from an interest in early computer-life experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious." Well, it certainly piques my interest. Here's the app's official description: "Your screen is the window into an evolving world. Move around to look around. You can follow the red dot. You can wear headphones. You can get some pretty strange looks on the train." It available for free on iPhone and Android. [Pitchfork]

  • On March 18, Black Lips will drop their much-anticipated album, Underneath the Rainbow. They've shared a track from the album called "Justice After All." The Atlanta natives deliver a classic rock ballad with a distinct southern infusion. [Stereogum]

  • Quilt definitely tapped into their art school roots in their video for the Held in Splendor single, "Tie Up The Tides." It's a psychedelic visual that expertly uses layers of candles and gravity-defying rainbow feathers -- random, I know -- to convey the free spirit of the track. [SPIN]
