  • With a name like King Tuff, you gotta deliver a bad-ass video, and the west coast garage-rocker does just that with his clip for "Black Moon Spell," the title track from his new Sub Pop release. Directed by Jared Eberhardt, the video has it all: snakes, witches, beer. What more could you ask for? Check out the clip below. KEXP presents King Tuff at Neumos on Wednesday, October 22nd with La Sera, and for a limited time, you can enter to win tickets to the show on the KEXP Facebook page. [Stereogum]

  • Toronto duo Crystal Castles are calling it a day. In a series of tweets, vocalist Alice Glass announced: "I am leaving Crystal Castles. My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others. For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC. Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles." [Spin]

  • Cold War Kids share a track from their forthcoming fifth album, Hold My Home, out October 21st on Downtown Records. The 11-track album was produced by guitarist Dan Gallucci and collaborator Lars Stalfors in San Jose, California. Check out the bluesy track "Hot Coals" below. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Northwest's own Modest Mouse are the subject of a new photo book, capturing the band from 1992 and 2010. Photographer Pat Graham lived with singer Isaac Brock in 1992, and has had a first-hand perspective of the band on the rise. The book is out now on PowerHouse Books, and an exhibit of the photos will be on display at House of Vans in London from November 27th to December 12th. [Pitchfork]
