KEXP Presents: Macefield Music Festival Oct 3-4

With a focus on Northwest music, and set in our beloved Ballard, Macefield Music Festival is the music festival that brings it all home, this Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th. Few things seem more emblematic to the Northwest than the festival's spirited, independent namesake, Ballard's legendary Edith Macefield, who refused to sell her home, despite big pressure from a company with big pockets.

There's not one, but two days of live music, in venues across Ballard, including The Tractor Tavern, The Sunset Tavern, and The Conor Byrne Pub. Headliners The Sonics, The Posies, The Maldives, and Thee Satisfaction highlight the amazing range of music we get to call our own. In addition, 2014 Macefield Music Festival debuts a comedy showcase and the Macefield Market- — free and open to the public — featuring a poster exhibit, trade show, record swap, and more, accompanied by live music and DJs.This year, KEXP and the Audioasis Community Partnerships Concerts present the all-ages main stage in the parking lot of Hattie's Hat, in support of Homestead Community Land Trust, our featured Community Partnership Organization. Homestead Community Land Trust is a community-based organization creating permanently affordable home-ownership opportunities. Homestead stabilizes individuals and families and strengthens neighborhoods by helping Seattle residents put down roots in community where they work and go to school.
