  • Avery Tare of Animal Collective has started his own side project, a new band called Slasher Flicks. The band also features former Ponytail drummer, Jeremy Hyman, and ex-Dirty Projectors member Angel Deradoorian. Thanks to some fantastic fans, we have video of their debut performance at Baltimore's Metro Gallery last night. [Pitchfork]

Broken Social Scene played their 2002 song "Almost Crimes" and their more recent track (if you consider 2005 recent) "7/4 Shoreline." Watch both performances below. [Pitchfork]

  • Queens of the Stone Age appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night to promote ...Like Clockwork, but apparently Letterman was so blown away by their performance that he invited them back again last night. This time they played "Down by the Ocean" and Dave was so impressed that he even asked "would it be okay if I told people I'm part of the band?" [SPIN]
