  • From pop to funk and R&B, Prince is a musician of many genres. I have to say, this raw and amped up version of his hit "Let's Go Crazy" fits him like a glove. He has four shows planned in two nights (April 18 and 19) at Shoebox and if this six minutes of instrumental perfection is any indication, those performances will be unbelievable. • French sister duo CocoRosie have a new album, Tales of a GrassWindow, that will drop on May 28 in the US. The single "Gravediggress" was released a while back, but today we have the all new "After the Afterlife" to sink our teeth into. • Janelle Monáe and The Roots stopped by Jimmy Fallon last night to promote the posthumous Jimi Hendrix album People, Hell and Angels (out now from Sony Legacy). Since Hendrix obviously wasn't available to perform the famous "Little Wing", Monáe stepped up and delivered a stellar rendition. Her guitarist Kellindo unleashed a sick solo that definitely did the legendary Hendrix proud. [Pitchfork]

  • Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla has been working on his solo career since 2008 and on April 20 he is releasing a 7-inch for Record Store Day. This track is a beautiful piano number that will sooth those workday blues. [CoS]
