Divine Fits tore it up on late night TV's Jimmy Kimmel Live! with their own "Like Ice Cream" and a cover of Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky". Even though Britt Daniel seemed like he was forgetting the words at one point, the performance is the kind of powerhouse one, complete with a creative cover (which they've been doing lots of recently), that we have begun to expect from the band. The kind of performance that, combined with repeated rewarding listens to A Thing Called Divine Fits make all the constant mentions of the members' other bands in their press seem likely to wane. Another ripping late-night TV performance came from Wavves on David Letterman. The San Diego suf-punk outfit's performance of "Demon to Lean On" was brash and loud, but the quality of the song itself came out just as clear during their first late-night TV appearance. It's been a few years since we've heard from indie-pop band Rogue Wave, but the band has just announced a new album release this spring and shared a new track from it, "College". Frontman Zach Rogue lost his father in the years between albums, and Nightingale Floors -- due out on June 4 via Vagrant -- represents a way of coping with that loss by focusing on the beauty of life while it lasts. As the shared track "College" attests, there is plenty of hope still even in the wake of tragedy (the band also lost their bassist Evan Farrell in 2007). Take a listen below. [CoS]

Bad news for all those who had their hopes up that Daft Punk would be playing Coachella this year -- they're not. The rumors circulating the internet recently are all revealed as unfounded after the band's announcement that they will not be at the festival this year. But at least there's the new album in May to tide you disappointed Coachella-goers over. [CoS]

More not so great news... Foxygen have cancelled all of their European dates coming up due to "creative health". Their performance at SXSW led to an apology from singer Sam France: "for all of our fans at sxsw, and my bandmates, I apologize if I have not delivered our music with love and respect my voice has gone from me and i have been very frustrated performing. I love you." It seems like it's a good idea for the band, even though many fans and promoters in Europe are surely upset. But the silver lining is that, as of now, they're still on to play Pickathon outside Portland this summer! [Spin]
