  • News of the The Postal Service's reissue and tour have been circulating for a few days now, as well as news that they would be releasing two unreleased tracks - and now we have the first of the two - "A Tattered Line of String." Featuring Jenny Lewis as backing vocals, the new track is undoubtedly poppy, bouncing and upbeat. The reissue will be out on April 9th via Sub Pop. [Pitchfork]

  • Congrats to The Black Keys, Frank Ocean, Dr. John, Bjork, Jimmy Fallon, Adele, Mumford & Sons, and many others for their wins during the 2013 Grammy Awards. Get the list of winners [here]

  • Portland based punks The Thermals were "Born to Kill" with their lyric video for the newly released track - it's short, to the point, and sweet as moshing in the warm summer. Their new album Desperate Ground will be out in April on Saddle Creek. [Stereogum]

  • Divine Fits did a cover of Bruce Springsteen's classic song "Hungry Heart" - stripped down to acoustic guitar, a maraca, and a table top for the drums. Super-group takes on super-man musician is a good combination - the cover is pleasantly worth checking out. [Stereogum]

  • James Blake released a new song, "Retrograde," from his upcoming album last week on BBC Radio 1 with the promise that a video was soon the follow. Fitting the dizzying fuzz layered track, the video is mysterious, and will surely give you the chills if the song wasn't enough. Blake's vocals, "Suddenly I'm hit," are accompanied by an actual meteor hitting a house where the occupants are frozen, motionless while still in motion. [Pitchfork]

  • As Pitchfork points out there has been much speculation in the past about the legitimacy of previous J Dilla "unreleased" material - but this time there is no doubt that this "Anthem" is one hundred percent Dilla. The track will be released on Pay Jay on 12" including the acapella recording and the instrumental of the song, as well as an alternate version of "Trucks". [Pitchfork]

  • Youth Lagoon released a new psychedelic song from his upcoming album Wondrous Bughouse - called "Mute" the track bobs and weaves through six minutes of colorful bubbling and underwater lyrics. [Pitchfork]

  • Purity Ring released this gem of a cover this morning - it's their take on "Grammy" by Soulja Boy (just in time for the Grammy's last night as well). Megan James high pitched vocals bounce on top of the beats - it's a fast paced and more pop sounding take on the original. Stream it at Gorilla vs Bear.

  • Seattle's noisy neighborhood post punk trio Grave Babies will be releasing their latest album on Hardly Art on Febuary 26th - and you can stream their single "No Fear" on Impose.
