Brighton-based trio Thrillhouse are clearly fans of the long-running animated TV show The Simpsons — not only taking their band name from Milhouse Van Houten's username for the video game Bonestorm (although, thanks to the character limit, it's truncated to "Thrillho"), but also naming their label Seymour Butz Records after one of the many prank phone calls Bart makes to Moe's Tavern.
The band's debut single continues to demonstrate their good taste, with a loop-driven groove that goes on for five and a half minutes. Vocalist Sam Strawberry told GlamGlare.com:
“The song is really just about getting older and the longing for lost youth. It’s centered around a really good time in my life when I was small and less old and how the memories of it become more cloudy as the years go by. It’s been influenced by Talking Heads, where you can do a lot with quite a little. Brian Eno said ‘repetition is a form of change’ and we’ve tried to apply that to the music. It’s not just that we’re lazy, it was intentional…I think?”
