Athens, GA-born, Brooklyn-based band Bambara are releasing their sophomore album Stray on February 14th via Wharf Cat Records. “Sing Me To The Street” is the second single shared from that forthcoming full-length, and it highlights the strength of their storytelling, narrated by the Nick-Cave-ish vocals of frontman Reid Bateh. (The track also features guest vocals from Anina Ivry-Block of Palberta, and Drew Citron from Public Practice.)
In a press release, Bateh explains the somber song:
'"Sing Me To The Street' is about loneliness, isolation, and the dreamy allure of chaos. The song follows an unnamed character wandering the streets of a vast city that feels both alive and abandoned, as he attempts to silence the persistent song of oblivion singing in his head."
