British experimentalists Vanishing Twin are releasing their sophomore album, The Age Of Immunology, on June 7 via Fire Records. The album follows 2016’s debut Choose Your Own Adventure and takes its eclectic influences from artists like Sun Ra, Stereolab, and Ennio Morricone.
Vocalist Cathy Lucas – who previously made solo work under the name Orlando – started the band alongside bassist Susumu Mukai (Zongamin, Floating Points), drummer Valentina Magaletti (Raime, Tomaga), library music obsessive Phil M.F.U. (Man From Uranus, Broadcast) playing "strange sounds," as well as filmmaker/visual artist Elliott Arndt performing flute and percussion.
Our Song of the Day, “KRK (At Home In Strange Places),” is a hypnotic jazzy number that transcends genre or structure.
