We’re throwing it back to 2017 for today’s Song of the Day and for good reason – you probably slept on this.

Lo-fi future soul musician Ben Zaidi has been quietly producing intimate, plaintive songs from a bedroom studio in Seattle since 2015. Now based in Brooklyn, his 2018 album All / Alone took some time gaining traction but it’s worth the wait. Our Song of the Day is “Uproar, Uproar,” a raspy James Blake-inspired single originally released in September 2017 and appears as the second track on All / Alone.

Ben Zaidi is back in Seattle tonight to play Can’t Blame the Youth, hosted by KEXP DJ and early champion of Zaidi’s Marco Collins and featuring Stas Thee Boss.

Wach Zaidi’s short film Breakfast in Manhattan, directed by Seth MacMillan, below.
