You'd be forgiven for assuming Cuffed Up were from the UK — the Los Angeles-based quartet draw influence from the punk scene across the sea. Vocalists/guitarists Sapphire Jewell (formerly of Gypsum) and Ralph Torrefranca (ex-Dr. Doctor) met by chance at a Sunday brunch, bonding over their love of bands like IDLES and Shame. A few months later, with the addition of musicians Joe Liptock and Vic Ordonez, they became a full-time band. "Small Town Kid" comes off the band's self-released debut single, a double-A-side with “Mother/Father.”
