Acclaimed Canadian duo A Tribe Called Red return with their important new single "The OG", inspired by Canadian politician Roméo Saganash and his passionate speech last September in the House of Commons regarding the Trans Mountain Pipeline and Indigenous rights. Teaming up with frequent collaborator Black Bear – a Pow Wow drum group from Manawan, Quebec of the Atikamekw Nation — A Tribe Called Red set snippets of Saganash's speech against a pulsating beat. In a press release, the band declared:
“It would be impossible to overstate the impact that Roméo Saganash’s words had on the Indigenous world and on us personally. We feel that the stand he took that day in parliament needs to be remembered, memorialized and commemorated. This is a celebration of that moment. Roméo, the Halluci Nation salutes you.”
