Phoenix, Arizona quartet Nanami Ozone make indie pop that takes inspiration from a variety of places – post-rock, punk, and shoegaze – to make a sound intrinsically special. The band is releasing their sophomore album, NO, on March 15 via Tiny Engines. The LP follows 2017’s Make It All Right EP and 2016’s debut Desire. Our Song of the Day is the early single “3 Mile Drive.” The song starts out with a single needling guitar line before the rest of the band thunders in with a burst of fuzz. At just a little over two minutes, it’s a quick hitter, but a promising look at what’s come from the Southwest band.
