Portland, Maine trio Weakened Friends released their debut album, Common Blah, this past fall via Don Giovanni Records. The 10-track LP focuses on the feelings of internal despair common in those in their mid-20s. Our Song of the Day, “Blue Again,” is no different, focusing on "how tempting it can be to just follow suit and do what you think others would want from you, in art, life, careers, politics, etc., and all the insecurities, anxiety and feelings of worthlessness that can come with that,” according to frontwoman Sonia Sturino. She punctuates the feeling with a warbling tremble in her powerful voice while singing the lines, “Blue/ It’s just a feeling I get with you/ I wanna go there again/I’ll know more about you when its over.”
In the video for the song, the band dons lamb masks and black hoodies while cathartically destroying an old house. Watch it below.
