Connecticut rockers Ovlov have broken up and gotten back together so many times it’s difficult to count. It seems, finally, that frontman and bandleader Steve Hartlett has struck the right balance to keep it going by doing it “sometimes but not all the time.” This non-committal attitude has brought TRU, Ovlov’s first album five years. Our song of the day, “Fast G,” is one of the album’s more upbeat, frenetic tracks, blasting with fuzz. TRU was released last month via Exploding in Sound and follows 2013’s am.
