Former Majical Cloudz frontman Devon Welsh has been sharing a string of solo singles, two years after the breakup of Majical Cloudz. The first of those was “I’ll Be Your Ladder,” an emotionally-charged, stripped-down ballad. Reminiscent in tone of the music made by Welsh’s former band, the song swaps the electronic elements for subtle instrumental orchestration, carried primarily by his haunting voice. The single comes accompanied by a black & white video by Christopher Honeywell that focuses on slow, close-up imagery. Soon after, Welsh shared the song “Vampires,” which was produced by Austin Tufts of BRAIDS and also received the video treatment from Christopher Honeywell. No word on whether the singles are leading up to an album. Majical Cloudz' final album was 2015's Are You Alone?.
