Brooklyn-based dream-pop five-piece Barrie are a fresh new band with only two songs currently released. Our song of the day, “Tal Uno,” is the newest of the two, following “Canyons.” Both singles have strong ‘80s influences, with heavy synths and a nostalgic shimmer. “Tal Uno,” in particular, got its name from the Tal-U-No-LX synthesizer plug-in that the song is musically built around. The band is made up of Barrie, Dom, Noah, Sabine, and Spurge, who all hail from different places around the world: Baltimore, Boston, São Paulo, London, and Upstate New York. No word yet on whether a forthcoming album will be released.
