EURINGER - The Medicine Does Not Control Me

Song of the Day
Hosted by Kevin Cole
Today’s song, featured on The Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole, is "The Medicine Does Not Control Me” by EURINGER, from the 2018 album EURINGER on Metropolis Records.
WRITTEN BY JASMINE ALBERTSON

Former Mindless Self Indulgence frontman Jimmy Urine released a new self-titled album under the moniker EURINGER (his actual last name) in October. The record features a number of high-profile appearances such as Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. Our Song of the Day, “The Medicine Does Not Control Me,” features indie-pop sensation Grimes. The frenzied synth-fueled track centers around drugs with lyrics like “I control the medicine” and “Come on, baby, let’s get high."

Mindless Self Indulgence’s last studio album was 2013’s How I Learned To Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence. Last week, Grimes released the first track from her new as-yet-untitled forthcoming album, “We Appreciate Power.” Below, watch the official video for Euringer’s “What a Fool Believes,” directed by Amber Beaton and released last month.
