Over the summer, Seattle disco punk band The Gods Themselves released a very aptly titled EP, Glamour & Grime. The EP was inspired by the quartet’s appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown in 2017.
“The man was kindred and turned on by the same things we were: movies, books, music and the beautiful contrasts in life, like the dichotomy of glamour and grime,” explains the band. “We dedicate this album to him and all those who he connected with on his journey in this plane.”
Our Song of the Day is “Girl Crush,” a sexy disco funk number that tackles the emotions behind a girl on girl crush. The Glamour & Grime EP follows 2017’s full-length Be My Animal. Catch The Gods Themselves at The Sunset on Saturday, December 29 with locals Fruit Juice and Mirrorgloss.
