On the show this time, it’s the infectious & ferocious power punk of Japan’s Otoboke Beaver.

Otoboke Beaver is a punk rock quartet from Kyoto, Japan. They’ve got a sense of humor to complement their freak-flag feminism, and an awareness of their growing global audience. Their latest album is named Super Champon. You might misread it as Super Champion — but Champon means “mixed” like the pork and seafood ramen of the same name. The self-described “Japanese girls 'knock out or pound cake' band” are incredible musicians, with a super fun inclusive energy. The record is available on Damnably and Bandcamp.

Recorded 10/14/2022.
