Donation FAQ

What is the recommended contribution to receive donor benefits?

At KEXP, we appreciate gifts of all sizes. A donation of any amount makes you a member of KEXP and you’ll receive a special KEXP bumper sticker.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes, your gift to KEXP is fully tax-deductible to the extent allowable by U.S. law, minus the fair market value of any thank you gifts requested. We will send you an acknowledgement letter for your contribution which can be saved for tax purposes. KEXP is not a tax-deductible charity in Canada. Tax statements are available by request.

When can I expect my thank-you gift to arrive?

Thank you gifts are generally mailed within 2-3 weeks of the first payment of your donation. Due to the high volume of donations received during on-air fundraising drives, thank you gifts are mailed within 3-4 weeks.  We rely on volunteers to package and ship thank-you gifts, so we appreciate your patience!

If you still have not received your thank you gift(s) after these anticipated times, please contact Donor Services at 206-520-5843 or email us at, and we're happy to help.

Is there a sizing chart to reference for choosing my t-shirt size?

Yes! Click here to view the current sizing chart for the t-shirts that we offer. This chart can also be accessed on the donation page, at the point you are choosing your thank you gift.

Can I exchange my thank you gift for a different size?

In order to maximize your gift to support programming, KEXP cannot accommodate size exchanges of clothing items.

Help! My thank-you gift arrived damaged!

Of the thousands of thank you gifts KEXP mails out, a handful end up breaking en route to their new owners. If this happens to you, email or call 206-520-5843. We'll mail you a new one as soon as possible, and thanks in advance for your understanding.

What are VIP Club Concerts?

KEXP thanks donors who make one annual gift of $500 or more by extending invitations to attend exclusive VIP Club Concerts. If you would like more information about VIP Club Concerts, click here or contact KEXP Donor Services at or 206-520-5843.

Can I gift my donor benefits to someone else by making a donation in their name?

Yes, you can make your donation a gift in the name of someone else who will then receive the donor benefits. To do so, we will need both your and the gift recipient’s information. This is done easiest over the phone, so please call 206-520-5843 to arrange this, rather than proceeding with the donation online.

How can I change or update my credit card information?

Give Donor Services a call at 206-520-5843 and we'll update your payment plan with your new information. Because we do not store credit card numbers, we always need the entire card number, expiration date and security code in order to update your payment plan. If for any reason your card was not able to process, but the card information has not changed, please still call Donor Services to provide the full credit card information so that we can manually catch you up on missed payments. Please do not email your credit card number to us.

How can I change my contact information?

If you have changed your mailing address, email address, or phone number, please email or call 206-520-5843.

When do I renew my support each year?

You will be asked to renew your support for KEXP one year from the date of your first gift or last renewal contribution, which is the date listed at the bottom of your donor benefits card. We'll begin sending you renewal notices by mail and email a few months before that time. When you make a gift to the station in response to one of these renewal notices, you’ll receive a thank-you letter with a new donor benefits card and renewal notices will discontinue. You can help more of your gift support the programming you love by responding early to these the renewal requests. If you have any questions, please email or call 206-520-5843.

Why did I receive a renewal reminder when I have already made my contribution?

Sometimes, your gift and our renewal notices cross in the mail. Please disregard the extra reminder and thank you for your continued support! If you are concerned, please contact or call 206-520-5843.

Will KEXP give out my mailing address, phone number or email address?

For KEXP’s complete privacy policy please click here . Please note that while KEXP does reserve the right to use donor information for marketing purposes, KEXP currently does not nor has any plan to rent, trade, or sell donor information.

How do I change my mail preferences?

Would you like to no longer receive paper mail or email from KEXP? No problem!  Please email or call 206-520-5843 with your request to limit paper mailings or emails.

Please note that email is the primary form through which KEXP sends special event invitations, including VIP Club Concert invites. If you are a VIP Club donor, please consider remaining opted into KEXP emails in order to receive these invites.

My employer participates in the employee matching gift program. How do I enroll?

You may be able to double the impact of your donation to KEXP by participating in your company’s matching gift program. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, KEXP is eligible for many employers' corporate matching gift programs, and is acknowledged as “Friends of KEXP” or through the University of Washington as part of an educational institution. Simply obtain a matching gift form from your Human Resources Department and send it to: KEXP, Attn: Matching Gifts, 472 1st Ave N, Seattle WA 98109. KEXP’s Tax ID Number/EIN is 91-2061474. Click here to learn more.

What is the difference between donating through my workplace giving program versus directly to KEXP?

Workplace giving programs maximize your gift to KEXP because your employer automatically matches your gift to KEXP! Because workplace giving automatically matches the full amount of your gift, donations made through workplace giving are not legally eligible for thank-you gifts.  Please contact donor services at 206-520-5843 or email us with any questions or concerns as you decide which route is best for you.

How can I include KEXP in my estate plans?

A planned gift for KEXP can be an outright gift, a life income gift, or a charitable bequest, and it can be made during your lifetime or at the time of death. For detailed information about including KEXP in your estate plans email Katrina Harvie-Watt at

How can I get a KEXP bumper sticker?

The KEXP bumper sticker is mailed with all first-time or renewing donations. If you are already a donor and need an additional sticker, please email or call 206-520-5843. If you are not a KEXP donor, you may pick up a free sticker at the station any day between 9am and 6pm or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to KEXP, Attn: Stickers, 472 1st Ave N, Seattle WA 98109.
