Hot on the heels of their Instagram shout-out from none other than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aka AOC herself in late March for the song “Sad Femme Club,” Vancouver rapper Kimmortal dropped the head-bopping hip hop track “K I’m Mortal.” Over a breezy beat, the rising star raps about the realities of imperfection and the quest for growth.
"Seeing AOC mouth along to the lyrics of my track 'Sad Femme Club' reminded me that there are amazing people out there who are feeling and listening to what I have to say,” explains Kimmortal. "So I'm excited to share 'K I'm Mortal,' probably the most honest track I've ever written. This song is about the anxiety I have around being perceived, my battles with perfectionism, and my fear of intimacy. It's a reminder that yes you will fuck up, but you can grow compassion for yourself and love again."
