It's been 13 years since their last full-length and 23 years since their breakout debut A Certain Smile, a Certain Sadness was released on Slumberland Records, but indiepop project Rocketship have returned with their strongest new music yet on the 2019 LP Thanks to You

Founding member and primary songwriter Dustin Reske relocated from Sacramento to Portland, OR over a decade ago, eventually meeting vocalist Ellen Osborn, formerly of the all-female Bee-Gees cover band, the She-Bee-Gees. The collaboration has breathed new life into Rocketship, propelling them into dare-I-say "funky" new territory on today's featured track “What’s the Use of Books,” with an infectious bass line and Osborn's laid-back vocals that eventually launches the song into a fantastical pop frenzy towards the end.
