This poster was inspired by listening to El Cancionero de Kurt, which explores the influence Kurt Cobain had in art movements in Latin-America.
As a teenager, I listened to Nirvana and fell in love with them. Although I connected with their music, I grew up in Mexico and didn’t speak English so I was greatly influenced by all things visuals like Nirvana’s music videos, concert scenography, Kurt’s artwork and his (lack of?) fashion.
The poster art has references to many things found in Kurt’s collages, videos, concerts, and, of course, his iconic sunglasses.
