On Monday, October 14th, KEXP celebrated Indigenous Peoples’ Day, sharing music from people and communities who have been actively resisting histories of colonization since time immemorial.

This year's Indigenous People's Day design for KEXP was created by Ty Juvinel.
BIO: Rich in money or rich in community. A statement instilled within Ty at a young age, and something Ty Juvinel constantly works on. Tribal communities need constant care and nurture just like any. And his work proves this statement, constantly teaching anywhere requested, and helping to find the next young carvers within Tulalip.
Ty Juvinel has works throughout Washington state, Seattle Kraken, Seattle Public library, Edmonds, Kenmore, Port of Seattle, and much more. Ty hopes to help grow a better awareness of Coast Salish art throughout Washington state and looks forward to any and all projects!
