KEXP has partnered with Pearl Jam in advance of their sold out Home Shows at Safeco Field on Wednesday, August 8 and Friday, August 10 to join in the band’s fight against homelessness in Seattle. These shows are about shining a spotlight on the problem and solutions to homelessness in our hometown and joining a growing list of businesses, individuals, government agencies, and foundations who are collaborating to tackle the biggest public health crisis to hit our community in recent history.
On Wednesday, August 1st, KEXP presented a day of music to increase awareness of the epidemic. In addition to music from artists who have experienced homelessness or housing insecurity, we also aired an in-studio session with Badb, a Seattle-based musician who shared their music, as well as their experience with homelessness in our city. You can listen to our spotlights of local organizations working to combat homelessness in Seattle below. And you can re-listen to a guest DJ set from Mike McCready of Pearl Jam on The Afternoon Show with DJ Kevin Cole.
Join us and Pearl Jam in the fight against homelessness! Find out how you can take action here.
