Last Friday, April 5, Aly Spaltro aka Lady Lamb released her first record in four years, Even in the Tremor. An early press release called the album “the first time in her career that Spaltro is singing explicitly about herself.”
With ex-Bowie collaborator Erin Tonkon at Spaltro’s side manning production, the record takes unexpected twists and turns. The album’s title track, our Song of the Day, evolves and warps multiple times within four and a half minutes, the percussion sputtering and whirring before going back into the simple beginning pattern only to halt and change directions again, never settling on one melody.
