February 2nd is Groundhog Day. As you might recall from the 1993 Bill Murray film, the infamous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil will emerge from hibernation on this day. Legend has it, if he sees his shadow, he'll freak out, retreat back into his burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. If he doesn't see his shadow, then spring will come early. Yeah, it's weird, and (no duh) inaccurate. According to the National Climatic Data Center, groundhogs have been right less than 40 percent of the time. But, no matter what happens this morning, we're just happy to see Phil's pudgy furry face. Here's KEXP playlist for songs in his honor:
