On his latest album, the Chicago blues vet pays homage to the North Mississippi hill country blues sound, popularized lately by folks like R.L. Burnside, T-Model Ford and the late Junior Kimbrough. Guy combines the trance-like modal blues of the hill country with his own blistering guitar work and ends up with one of the rawest and most exciting albums of his lengthy career.
