- (Merge)
Based upon characters from Nashville novelist Tony Earley's best-selling book Jim the Boy, the fourth album from this Nashville singer-songwriter is steeped in an old-time country aesthetic while sounding not the least bit retro. Burch once again shows himself at ease with a variety of traditional country styles, and his idiosyncratic songwriting remains as evocative as ever. 4/15/2001
