The second solo album from the former Whiskeytown frontman is an ambitious set of music blending elements of roots rock, folk, country and soul with Beatlesque pop-rock, Tin Pan Alley pop and a variety of classic rock influences. Whether it's a ragged, bluesy rocker, a lush orchestral ballad or a sweetly melodic pop tune that sounds straight out of '70s LA, Adams puts it all across with aplomb. 8/15/2001
