- (Crosstown Rebels)
Born Amirali Shahrestani, the debut full-length album from this Iranian-born, Toronto-raised, London-based electronic producer and vocalist is a strong and confident set of vocal-laced deep-house grooves with disco, electro, and techno flourishes that are seductively kinetic and sneakily hypnotic. His dancefloor-baiting productions are crisp, intricate, yet effortlessly smooth, while his unique, lightly husky vocal delivery harkens back to the synth-pop greats of the 1980s with a touch of Thom Yorke. Quality stuff. 5/11/2012
