St. Paul de Vence: St. Paul de Vence
Buy! - (self-released)
This Seattle band’s debut full-length is an often-stirring set of campfire folk-pop that’s reminiscent at times of a more French-influenced The Head and The Heart. The band’s dynamic, acoustic-oriented sound includes guitars, accordion, ukulele, autoharp, banjo, mandolin, assorted percussion and more fleshing out well-crafted songs with warm, soulful harmonies and occasional anthemic choruses. The band’s songs are inspired by frontman Benjamin Doerr’s grandfather, who was stationed in the French town of St. Paul de Vence as part of the Free French Forces during World War II. 2/17/2012 - Don Yates
