This Vancouver, BC singer-songwriter’s third album is considerably darker and more sonically adventurous than 2010’s Nice, Nice Very Nice. The album’s expansive folk-pop sound is richly textured with a variety of strings, horns, woodwinds and ambient noise while also injecting a more aggressive rock edge at times to accompany his gravelly vocals and lyrics touching upon personal mortality and societal decay. 9/2/2011
